The Problem
Cartwright & Butler had big growth ambitions. Their premium gifting business was gaining traction, but their digital platform wasn’t keeping pace.
The website was built on Magento 1.9: outdated, unsupported and inflexible. Customers couldn’t send hampers to multiple addresses in a single transaction, creating friction during peak sales periods. Behind the scenes, a lack of integration with inventory and fulfilment systems made operations slow and manual.

A custom platform built for growth
We replaced the legacy Magento setup with a new Laravel and Drupal build, fully integrated with Netsuite and WAERlinks for live stock and inventory management. The system was designed to be flexible, making it easier to adapt, personalise and scale.
Customer-first features
We introduced functionality that put customers in control, including the ability to send hampers to multiple addresses in one transaction. Navigation and checkout were rebuilt for simplicity to drive conversion and reduce drop-off.
Marketing and conversion support
After launch, we supported Cartwright & Butler with content and paid media campaigns to drive traffic and boost ROI. These campaigns helped maximise the impact of the new platform.
